Eddie Van Halen’s 1993 Actors Screen Guild Membership Card

This is Ed’s 1993 Actors Screen Guild Membership Card.  This Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Membership card shows that Ed also did enough film and TV work to require union representation. The SAG membership would cover him for cameos, award shows, TV spots, and any scripted guest roles. So, this SAG card confirms that Ed wasn’t just a rock legend, he was also officially part of the Hollywood acting/performing community.

Here are Ed’s acting / on screen appearances on TV:

• Frasier (1995) –
  Appeared in a dream sequence cameo, playing guitar. This is one of the first clear instances where he would need SAG membership, since it’s a scripted network comedy.
• Two and a Half Men (2009) –
  Appeared in a cameo as himself, guitar in hand, confronting Charlie Sheen’s character in the bathroom. Another SAG job.
