Ritchie Blackmore’s Stratocaster Style Guitar Smashed On September 8, 1983 With Rainbow

This is Ritchie Blackmore’s Stratocaster style guitar that he smashed on September 8, 1983, at the Whitley Bay Ice Rink, with Rainbow. Ritchie frequently used this style of guitar for his smasher. As you can see in the photos, the original owner of this smasher decided to fill in the back of the body with a piece of wood and put the original neck back on the guitar as it did not break as many of them do. This was done for display purposes only. It comes with a very old (possibly from the 80s-early 90s), typed letter from the original owner.
