Click on a photo to view full size image

This one of a kind beautiful custom made double neck was owned and used by Erik Braunn of Iron Butterfly. Erik was the guitarist on the world famous album and song In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. He was only 17 at the time and was with Iron Butterfly from 1967-1969 and 1974-1977. He also played live with them from 1979-1990. This beautiful guitar was custom made fro Erik around 1967 -68 and we do not know who the luthier was, but I can assure that this is a work of art, and a true pleasure to play as well. It has a mahogany body with ebony fingerboards. All inlays are made out of abalone and Erik’s initials EKB “Erik Keith Braunn” which are inlayed on the headstock are made of abalone as well. The original flight case is stenciled Erik Braunn – Iron Butterfly – Fragile. There is an original sticker on the flight case from the Pasadena Rose Palace dated March 14-15 1969. Iron Butterfly headlined this show and the supporting bands were The Steve Miller Band and Blues Image. A copy of the original handbill can be seen here in the photos. This guitar was bought in 1979 from Erik and it still resides with the original owner. It comes with a photo of Erik playing this guitar in 1967-68 and has a note from Erik’s wife Gail on the back of the photo. This note has been notorized. Erik has passed away but his years with Iron Butterfly and his contribution to one of the most famous albums and songs of all time will always be remembered. Please enquire for price.
