RARE! Ginger Baker’s Cream Stage Used Drumsticks From 1967 Club A’Gogo In Newcastle England

Click on a photo to view full size image

These are an exceptionally rare pair of Ginger Baker’s stage-used drumsticks from Cream’s January 20, 1967 performance at the legendary Club A’Gogo in Newcastle, England. Cream’s appearance at the Club A’Gogo is documented for this date, during the band’s early 1967 UK tour. The provenance of these sticks is remarkable. They have been owned by Dave Brewis who is the owner of Rock Stars Guitars, since 1999, when Dave purchased them directly from the original recipient who obtained them at the show.

Dave recalls the story:

“The lady I bought them from in 1999 was at the gig and caught one of the sticks when Ginger threw it into the crowd. She met him at the bar later and asked if he would give her another to make a pair. He went back to the stage and got the second stick from his kit. There are some period teeth marks on the end from the lady’s dog….”

This is an incredible matched pair of Ginger Baker’s sticks used with Cream with a documented story behind each stick. The sticks retain their own history and character, including the period dog teeth marks described by the original owner. They are presented in a custom display with a period photograph and frame. The sticks come with a detailed letter from Dave Brewis documenting the complete provenance and history of the sticks. For the serious Cream or Ginger Baker collector, this is an extraordinary piece of early Cream history.
