Geoff Nicholls’ Timpani Mallets Used By Cozy Powell With Black Sabbath

Click on a photo to view full size image

This is a pair of Cozy Powell’s Percussion Plus Soft Timpani Mallets, which he used to play the timpani during the recording of Black Sabbath’s TYR album. He also used these mallets to warm up the gong. After Cozy passed away, Geoff Nicholls was asked if he wanted anything of Cozy’s when his wardrobe was being cleared out. Geoff chose this pair of mallets, keeping them as a personal memento of Cozy. Geoff Nicholls is pictured here with Cozy Powell’s timpani mallets and drumsticks.
