This is a very rare pair of Cozy Powell’s used drumsticks dating from the first year he played with Black Sabbath, in 1989. During a soundcheck in America, Cozy found that the sticks he was using were too small and not heavy enough, making it difficult for him to hear himself play. He had his drum tech find the largest and heaviest sticks available, which were these. The drumsticks bear the name Stefan Kaufmann, who was the drummer for the German heavy metal band Accept. Later, Geoff Nicholls asked Cozy for a pair of his drumsticks, and Cozy gave these to Geoff. Geoff Nicholls is pictured here with Cozy Powell’s timpani mallets and these drumsticks.
