These are Bill Ward’s Avedis Zildjian cymbals, used with Black Sabbath during the 1970s. The collection includes 6 cymbals including Avedis Zildjian ride cymbals, Avedis Zildjian crash/ride cymbals, and a pair of Avedis Zildjian hi-hats.

Bill gave these cymbals, along with many other drums and accessories he had used with Black Sabbath, to his friend Malcolm Cope. In 1977, Malcolm suffered an equipment accident while performing at The Music Machine in London. After hearing about the accident, Bill arranged to help Malcolm by giving him many of his old Black Sabbath drums and accessories. The equipment Bill Ward gave to Malcolm included the Avedis Zildjian cymbals, a 20-inch Slingerland copper floor tom, a 26-inch Hayman bass drum, cymbal stands, Ghost bass drum pedals, additional drum accessories, and drum cases. These items were among the drums and equipment Bill had used with Black Sabbath.

Malcolm Cope is pictured here with the cymbals. Extensively used by Bill Ward during Black Sabbath’s early touring and recording years, these Zildjian cymbals are a significant piece of the band’s history. Not For Sale.
