Dave Of England 6 String Guitar Used At The 2002 Concert For George

The Dave of England 6 string guitar finished in red/brown stain was the first 6 string made, using some of the original jigs supplied by Tony Zemaitis, and built for me by Kevin Parsons. It was made early in 2002. The body and neck are mahogany and the fingerboard & bridge are ebony.

It carries a Dave Of England label signed by myself and Kevin Parsons, and an original Zemaitis label, marked as replica and signed by Tony Zemaitis.

When it was fairly new, I took it with Alan Rogan to Ronnie Wood’s house, where he played it and posed for a picture for me. He ordered one for himself, slightly smaller. Before the Concert For George in 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall, Alan asked if he could borrow it for Dhani Harrison to play at the show, as they did not want to use any of George’s Zemaitis guitars. I sent it to the rehearsal venue, Alan had a pickup fitted by Knight Guitars, and it was used in the show. Dhani thanked me at the sound check for loaning the guitar. It is featured in the DVD of the show, as well as numerous press photos and in the Genesis book of the show. Part of my personal collection.
