Jerry Cantrell’s 1992 Gold Top Ernie Ball Music Man EVH Model

This is Jerry Cantrell’s 1992 Gold Top Ernie Ball Music Man EVH Model that Eddie Van Halen gifted to Jerry at the end of Van Halen’s “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge” tour. Ed also gave Jerry a blue MM EVH model and two Peavey 5150 full stacks. This Gold Top was later stolen from Jerry in around 2000-2001 during the recording sessions of his solo album, Degradation Trip. In late March 2018, and by pure luck, this guitar came into my hands when a good friend asked me to buy a 1992 Gold Top MM in Los Angeles for him as there were only 26 Gold Top Music Man EVH models made. After the purchase and figuring out that this was actually Jerry’s guitar, I returned it back a few weeks later to Jerry when Alice was in rehearsals. Jerry being the incredibly humble person that he is, gifted me a custom blue Friedman JJ 100 head and 4×12 cabinet, and an Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Gold Top, which is copy of his Gold Top, both of which Jerry had custom made.
