George Harrison’s 1964 Gibson SG Standard that was used on the videos “Paperback Writer” & “Rain”. Also used on late 60s Beatles recordings. This was also used live by George with the Beatles at the last ever UK concert – 1966 NME Poll Winners concert, and comes with photos of this show. It was also played in the studio by John Lennon circa 1968, and there is footage of this in the “Anthology” DVD set. George gave this guitar to Pete Ham of Badfinger in 1969, who used it for 5 years with the band before giving it to his brother, John.
Dave Brewis, owner of Rock Stars Guitars, is pictured here holding his 1956 Fender Stratocaster that was used by George Harrison in the TV documentary “The Story Of The Fender Stratocaster -Curves Contours and Body Horns”. It is also featured in the accompanying book. George never owned it but did sit and play it on the film – he played the solo to the Beatles “Nowhere Man” among other bits and pieces.
